2009 District Recognition Event Awards
The District recognized this year's 121 Religious Award recepients, our new
81 Eagles since November 2008, 2 Scouting Spirit awards, 48 DLC awards and 3
DAOM awards. More than 150 Scouts and Scouters were in attendance at the
2009 Recognition Event held on December 3, 2009 at Cary First Presbyteria
Church.
Thanks to all the Committee Members and Scouters who helped us make the
evening a great success. Our thanks specifically to Gary Thorn, Jerry Jester,
Robbie Spivey, Bob Gamble, Ed Walsh, Rodger Skirvin, Roger Lear and Todd Ellis
for putting it all together.
Gary Thorn was our Recognition Event Chairman
again this year and he continues to excel at putting together an outstanding
program. THANKYOU Gary!

Scouting For Food Information for all Scouters
Chris and Kristin Meyer, our Scouting For Food Co-Chairpersons, have published
a document outlining the procedures for the units participating in our
Scouting for Food program.
The document may be read by looking under the Site Map heading of District
Scouting For Food, Scouting for Food - New Procedure.
ALL UNITS SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN SCOUTING FOR FOOD.
To see if any units have signed up for a month and to see how much food
has been collected, you may look under the Site Map heading of District
Scouting For Food and see the results for the past year's food drives.

ROUNDTABLE & COMMITTEE MEETING INFORMATION
District Committee Meetings:
Crosswinds District Committee Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of
each month, with the exception of July. Meetings start at 7:00 pm and
normally end by 8:30 pm. The meetings are currently held at the Triangle Rock
Club at 102 Pheasant Wood Court in Morrisville, NC.
District Roundtable Meetings:
Crosswinds District Roundtable meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday
of each month, with the exception of July. We gather at 6:30 pm for one-half
hour of visiting. We start the actual Roundtable program at 7:00 pm and
normally end at around 8:30 pm. The meetings will now be held in the
Fellowship Room of the Cary Presbyterian Church at 614 Griffis St., 27511,
just South West of downtown Cary.
