2010 Crosswinds District
Boy Scout Spring Camporee

This event is for Boy Scout and Venture units, not Cub Scouts.

The fifth annual Crosswinds District Boy Scout Spring Camporee at Camp Reeves from April 9 to April 11, 2010.

Rather than centrally planning every aspect of the event, the district camporee committee will only be doing the event management and logistics. The events will be the total responsibility of the participating units. This has a number of advantages:
  1. The camporee can be more 'boy led' since selection and execution of events is now closer to the Scout level.
  2. More minds involved should result in greater variety and creativity of event planning
  3. Costs become more a matter of choice for the units as the fixed costs of the event will be minimized

Please Note: in order for your troop to come to the camporee, your unit MUST provide an event. Small units may join forces to produce an event. Large units may provide multiple events. Participating units must provide an adult focal point to ensure we keep on schedule. We need this individual identified as soon as possible.

We have a number of opportunities for adults who would like to be a camporee staff volunteer. Click here to see Staff position status.

Below you will find information regarding registration, participation, and an on-line registration form. I would like each unit to register as soon as possible. Troops have priority for their prior year campsite up until February Roundtable. After the March Roundtable campsite selections will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Again, the registration process this year is intended to ensure that the council deposit is clear.

Troops and Crews should pay a $50 deposit to the Occoneechee council offices with the notation that it is for the Crosswinds District Camporee and attached to a Camporee Voucher. Units may pay the remainder of the $ 8.00 per Scout and $ 7.00 per adult registration at the door. Checks should be made out to "Occoneechee Council, BSA". Bring your receipt to camporee registration.
