No regular agenda was held for the annual Christmas Party Meeting.  However,
four items were discussed that merit your attention.

Ed Williams reported that 39 units sold popcorn and the total sales were about
$190,000.  That puts our district again in first place.  Also, this time for
the first time since 1985, two of our units were the top selling units in the
Occoneechee Council.  Pack 200 and Pack 216 sold more than $20,000 worth of
popcorn, with Pack 200 edging out Pack 216 by a total of about $36.00.  Well
done Pack 200 and Pack 216.  The top selling Troop was Troop 397 with a sale of
more than $7,000.00.  Well done Troop 397.

John Slocumb announced that two of our attendees have been honored with the
Silver Beaver Award.  Congratulations to Susan Long and Tom Stalker.

David Hearne was named "Commissioner of the Year" for the Occoneechee Council
at the 1999 Commissioner's College.  Congratulations to David.

David Page gave an Executive Minute and thanked everyone on the district staff
for doing such a tremendous job in 1998.  He is thankful for all we do.

We had a good crowd, really good food and lots of fellowship.  Our thanks go to
David and Julia Hearne for having us in their home for our Christmas meeting.

Our next meeting is the annual Planning Retreat at Camp Reeves (we think) on
January 8 - 10, 1999.  We are looking for two people from the district to do
the cooking for the committee for the Friday supper, Saturday's breakfast,
lunch and supper and Sunday's breakfast and lunch.  If you would like to help

We wish all of the units and their leaders a very Merry Christmas and a happy
