FOOD!: As usual David and Julia Hearne put on a finger food feast fit for any Scouter. Bob Ratledge presented Julia with a Poinsettia as a small token of our appreciation to the Hearnes.

November minutes were approved as written.

District Commissioner - David Hearne:We need 79 units to be a Quality District and we are presently at 74 and Stan is working on 2 or 3 more.

Boy Scout Program Reports - Ed Williams for Don Schmidt:

Camping - No report.

Advancement - Ed Williams: Ed presented a report for January - November 1999 showing the advancements for Boy Scouts for the year. Ed has the report on disk if you want to see it - contact edwillms@bellsouth.net.

SCOUTMASTERS & CUBMASTERS PLEASE NOTE: Karen Kirby of the Scout Office will attend the December or January Round Table to explain how they put in the re-charters, advancement reports, etc.. Plan to send someone to the RT to get the information so your reports get entered correctly.

Eagle Board - No report.

Training - No report.

Cub Program Reports - Lisa White:

Advancement - Judy Ward:No report as figures were not available. She will report in January at the District Retreat.

Training - No report.

Cub Day Camp - Lisa White: Jewel Ward has agreed to be our Program Director and Laura Wester has agreed to be her assistant for our 2000 Cub Day Camp. Lisa has started preparing the sign-up forms for CDC.

Order of the Arrow - No report.

Health & Safety - No report.

Activities and Civic Service - Bob Ratledge for Dusty Fletcher: The Recognition Event recieved a 1/2 page writeup in the Cary News. We had a good turnout and good food thanks to Dusty Fletcher's hard work and execellent presentation for the DLC's. Thanks, Dusty!

Membership - Stan Belyeu: Last year we had 1715 Cub Scouts, 960 Boy Scouts and 44 Team members for a total of 2719. So far this year we have 1721 Cub Scouts, 950 Boy Scouts and 68 Team members for a total of 2739. Pack 234 is now in place and Troop 10 wants to start a Crew.

Finance - Rodger Skirvin: Dan Beard's District goal for FOS for 2000 is $70,000.00 by April 28, 2000.

Popcorn - Shari Garrett: We are now past $263,000 in 1999 popcorn sales. Several units have not cleared their books yet and December 3 is the deadline. Make sure your unit clears their sales by then.

Council Camporee - Steve Stewart: Almost 7000 Scouts and Scouters attended the Camporee. It was really great and good weather. Our hats are off to Rudy Hines and the Camporee staff.

Round Table - Geri Mangum: Geri needs some Cub Scouters to help him with our Round Tables. If you can help Geri contact him at 779-2996 or at work at 733-3986 - PLEASE HELP!

DE's Minute - Rodger Skirvin: Rodger said that our smaller Cub Packs (with 17 or less members) are about 80% in danger of dropping out; we need to get more members in those Packs to keep them healthy.

New Business: Our District Retreat is January 7-9th, 2000. We hope to have it at Camp Reeves. ALL District members are expected to attend to do the planning for the goals for the coming year.

New Business: Bob Ratledge, our new District Chairman, would like our Committee members to be available before and after Round Table meetings to answer any questions from our district's Scouters. He feels that our main job is to make sure the units know that we are there to help them with any problems or questions they might have. Let's support our District and show up at the Round Table meetings.
