3. District Commissioner - Ron Werley: Ron is having a re-charter meeting from
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on March 13th at the Cary LDS Church at the corner of
Seabrook Ave. and Cary Parkway. Unit leaders should contact Ron via e-mail
to make an appointment time for that night, so that units don't have to wait
in line. There are about 85 units re-chartering that night. Ron will send
out a note on the YahooGroups e-mail list server and a note will be put on
our district web site index page.

Roundtable ADC - Gary Thorn: Gary said the new Roundtable sign-in sheets,
which had names already pre-printed, were well accepted and that we would
continue to use them. It cuts down registration time for the units.

Cub Roundtable Commissioner - Susan Long for Jenny Elwell: There will be
a Safety Afloat/Safe Swim Defense course offered at the March 20 Roundtable.
One course will be held BEFORE the Roundtable and the other course will be
held during the Cub break-out session. Cub Family Campout people working
on the water front at the Campout require this training.

4. Training - Marv Tharp: The 2/15 training courses at St. Andrew's in Apex
had 65 leaders in attendance. NLE had 62, Scoutmaster Specific had 31,
Troop Committee had 19 and Venturing Specific had 12. There were 32 from
Dan Beard, 12 from Sequoyah, 12 from Impeesa and 5 from other districts.

March 8 is TDC, March 15 is BALOO, 3/29 is Den Chief Training, 3/29 is the
Cub Pow-Wow and 3/28-3/30 is the Intro to Outdoor Leadership Skills.

   Chartered Organization Representative Training.

   50, 75, 226, 238 and 307 have not reported any advancement in 6 months.
February had 11 Eagles reviewed and all were approved. 11 Eagle projects
were reviewed, with 9 approved and 2 rejected.

Boy Scout Camporee - Ed Walsh for Bill Fairhurst: The patches have not yet
been ordered. Only 9 units have signed up to lead the 19 activities listed
   on the Camporee web site.

6. Cub Program - Steve Ennis:

   Cub Advancement - No report.

Cub District Pinewood Derby - Martin Banning for Keith Biegert: 234 Scouts
participated from 26 Packs at the Pinewood Derby on March 1. The races went
smoothly and Chris Caswell was the starter for all of the races. Roger
Peterson, CM P216, Greg Fishel and Martin Banning did outstanding jobs as
the race Masters of Ceremonies. The Scouts had admirable behavior.
The race results and pictures are available on the district web site.

Cub Day Camp - Steve Ennis: The Fairgrounds youth center will be the site
for the June 16 - 20 Cub Day Camp. The second week will be held at the
Raleigh Elks Club from June 30 - July 4.

   Scout help for the Campout.

FOS presentations made. At this time, the Family Campaign has collected
$55,000. The total FOS campaign is at $60,000.

Popcorn - Dusty Fletcher: They are still working on getting a 2003 District
Popcorn Kernel. We need one by March 28, as that is when the district
popcorn kernel meeting will be held.

year's Winter Fest and they are also going to serve on the staff.
