was 300 high and the total figure for all district Scouts was 300 high.
3. District Commissioner - Ron Werley: Dan Beard had 6 Commissioner's at the
Commissioner's College. Three got their Batchelor's, 1 got a Master's and
1 started the Doctorate work. Ron has completed Basic Training for 2 new
UC's and has turned in the paperwork for 2 Arrowhead Awards. We are now at
a ratio of 3.5 units per UC.
4. Boy Scout Program - Ed Walsh:
Advancement - Ed Williams: Advancements reported were low for August and
September, but not sure of the reason why. Ed presented the figures for
advancement thru October.

approved and 8 projects were approved, with one to be worked on.
Training - Susan Long: Susan is hoping to put together a BLT training

for Unit Commissioner's for their units.
9. Finance - Rodger Skirvin: Steve Glass has agreed to be the FOS chairman for
2002. They plan to have a breakfast kick-off early next year.
Popcorn - Dusty Fletcher: Dusty was happy to report that with 49 units

for this year's sale is $363,004. The units really did a great job! The
popcorn pickup is for the second time at Longistics, Inc. near the airport.
Dusty needs all the help she can get to sort the 112 pallets of popcorn.
10. Activities and Civic Service - Dusty Fletcher: Dusty would like some help
in setting up the Annual Recognition Event on November 15. The District
will take care of the food, but some people to setup at 3 PM would be a big
help. She asked Gary Thorn to take care of registration and asked the
District Key 3 to be the receiving line. We will eat at 6:30 and start the
recognition program at about 7:30 PM.
COMMITTEE PLEASE NOTE: The December 5th District Committee meeting will be
held at W.E. and Becky Medlin's home in Fuquay-Varina. Spouses are invited and
uniforms are optional. Please bring finger foods or desserts with you as you
did last year and W.E. and Becky will furnish some type of meat for the meal.
We have attached directions to their home with these minutes. The meal will
start at 6:30 PM and we will have a Committee meeting after the meal. Hope to
see you all there, especially the new members of the District Committee.
