any advancement forms MUST BE IDENTICAL to the scout's name as it is

Order of the Arrow - No Report.

Health & Safety - Steve Merritt: Still working on getting the safety instruction cards out to the leaders.

Activities and Civic Service - Dusty Fletcher: Dusty would like to see helpers at RFUPC at 5:30 pm for the Recognition Event setup. We should be out by 9 pm or so if all goes according to plan.

Membership - Stan Belyeu: Last year we had 2719 scouts in 78 units and we now have 2698 in 74 units. We have to work hard to get more scouts if we want to be a Quality District.

Finance - Rodger Skirvin: No Report

Popcorn - Shari Garrett: Our 44 units hit a new high in the 1999 popcorn sales. The gross sales for our district, including the show and sell popcorn, stands at $261,566.00. We had $222,066.00 in take order sales and $39,500.00 in show and sell sales. What a great job the units did! Congratulations Shari and all units selling popcorn. The Council finally hit more than $1,000,000.00 (1 Million $) in popcorn sales and we accounted for more than 1/4 of it and there are 11 districts in the Council (the other 10 districts sold the other 3/4 of the popcorn). Think what we could do if the other 30 units in our district sold popcorn! We increased $71,523 over last year. Units will be contacted by Shari for their popcorn pickup times on Friday, Nov. 12th or Saturday, Nov. 13th.

Council Camporee - Rudy Hines: Rudy is now the Camporee Chief as the person who was the chief is ill. We have a total of 4429 scouts that are pre-registered and the weather forecast looks good.

Nominating Committee - Don Schmidt: The 1999-2000 District Committee nominations were presented and approved unanimously by the committee. The nominating committee was made up of Bob Ratledge, W.E. Medlin, Larry Gracie, Don Schmidt and John Slocumb.

DE's Minute - Rodger Skirvin: Rodger congratulated the district on the great job on the popcorn sales and our district's hard work.

District Committee Member of the Month: Shari Garrett for her great job as 1999 District Popcorn Kernel.

Next District Committee Meeting: Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at the Hearne residence at 7:00 pm. Uniforms are not required, but you should bring some type of finger food to share with the group.
