2012 Crosswinds District Boy Scout Camporee - April 13-15, 2012

The theme for the Camporee is Scouting Olympics. Activities will be unit planned and run events of their choice.

Your unit MUST provide an event in order for your unit to attend the camporee.

Small units may join forces to produce an event. Large units may provide multiple events.

Units who want to attend the Camporee must provide, as soon as possible, the identification of an adult(s) who will be the adult focal point for the their unit.

Ed Walsh will act as the Camporee Chief and he will be assisted by Gantt Edmiston, Matt Breneman and Robin Biegert.

They always welcome additional volunteers, so contact Ed Walsh if you wish to assist in any way.

The Camporee web site has more information and is ready for on-line registrations at:

2011 District Recognition Event Awards

The District recognized this year's 93 Religious Award recepients, our new 80 Eagles since November 2010, 2 Scouting Spirit awards, 63 DLC awards and 3 DAOM awards. More than 200 Scouts and Scouters were in attendance at the 2011 Recognition Event held on December 1, 2011 at Cary Church of Latter Day Saints.

Thanks to all the Committee Members and Scouters who helped us make the evening a great success. Our thanks specifically to Keith Biegert, the District Awards Committee Chairman, Gary Thorn, Jerry Jester, Bob Gamble, Roger Lear, Ed Walsh and Robbie Spivey for pulling it all together.

Gary Thorn and Roger Lear did a lot of the paperwork and getting the program together. Keith did an outstanding job of overseeing the logistics and lining up the people to present the program. THANK YOU Awards Committee!

The adult recognitions are listed in the
Crosswinds District Scouter Awards

2011 Distinguished Leader Citation Recipients - 32 out of 63 attended
