                              CROSSWINDS DISTRICT

Robert Spivey Susan Long Martin Banning
District Chairman District Commissioner District Executive

Attendees: Martin and Jennifer Banning, Keith Biegert, Tom Doligalski,
Bill Fairhurst, Bob Gamble, Jerry Jester, Kevin John, Roger Lear,
Susan Long, Beckie Nalley, Chris Siegl, Suzie Slopek and
           Robbie Spivey (14).

Everyone brought a dish to pass and Robbie cooked hamburgers & hot dogs on his
outside grill for our New Year Party Dinner. Thanks to Robbie and his family
for having us for a delicious and filling dinner.

1. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Robbie Spivey.

2. Crosswinds District minutes for December 2004 were approved as written.

3. Membership - Suzie Slopek: Jerry Jester is helping her with Membership. Our
Crosswinds District is not going to be a Quality District our first year as
we did not reach our Venture Scouts goal. Our Council has been a Quality
Council since 1989 (14 years) according to Martin.

4. Religious Emblems - Siegl & Spivey: Several of our units have responded to
our request for their plans for Scout Sunday. We hope more will respond.

5. District Commissioner - Susan Long: All of our units now re-charter in
March. The goal is to have the Unit Commissioners hand out the re-charters.
They will have a charter turn-in night. Susan thinks that up to 75% of our
units will re-charter using the new on-line process. Inventories were
completed and we picked up some new Cubs and Scouts.

BS Round Table - Jerry Jester: Jerry and Susan are planning on covering the
on-line re-chartering process at the January Round Table.

6. Finance - Martin Banning: The District FOS breakfast at Preston Wood will be
   shared with the Hemlock District.

7. Popcorn - Beckie Nalley: Beckie is planning to have a good sales year.
Suzie Slopek is going to help her for the 2005 Popcorn Sale.

8. Cub Scout Program - Open position:

Cub Family Campout - Chris Siegl: Chris has done the budget for the Cub
Family Campout in April and will turn it in to Martin.

9. Boy Scout Program:

Advancement - Tom Doligalski: We had 46 Eagles in 2004 and 320 in the
Council. They are still having problems with Eagle packets being turned in
to the Council without all of the necessary paperwork. National BSA has now
taken a firm stand that, with only serious exceptions, the Eagle process
must be completed by the Scout's age of 18 years and 3 months.

Eagle Board of Review - Tom Doligalski for Tom Allen: We had 5 finals and
2 projects in December. All were approved.

2005 BS Camporee - Jerry Jester: We still need Scouters to volunteer to
   help with the Camporee activities.

10. Venturing - Bill Fairhurst: The pistol instruction course has only one
slot left. If you have the Venturing NRA Pistol Certification, you are
eligible to take the Police SWAT Training being offered in March of 2006.

The Council contingent for the Venturing Vortex is being recruited by Rich
    Pabst and Kathy Connelly.

11. Training - Suzie Slopek (acting Chairlady): Baden Powell District is doing
a mega training session on February 12, 2005 at Grace Bible Fellowship. We
need trainers from our District to help with this course. If you have
taken a course and you want to teach or help teach that course, contact
    Suzie.

Committee Member of the Month - Susan Long for her dedicated work in the
re-chartering process and the recruitment of Unit Commissioners.
