                              CROSSWINDS DISTRICT

Robert Spivey Susan Long Martin Banning
District Chairman District Commissioner District Executive

Attendees: Mark Christy, Jerry Jester, Roger Lear, Susan Long and Robbie Spivey
           (5).

1. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Robbie Spivey.

2. Crosswinds District minutes for March were approved as written.

3. Religious Awards Programs - Robbie Spivey: The date for start of the Cub
Religious Award classes at White Plains United Methodist Church is April 18.
Both God and Church and God and Life classes will be held. The classes are
   advertised on our web site.

4. Commissioner's Report - Susan Long: The re-charter process is done with 53
out of 53 units registering on time. 36 of our units are Quality Units and
that is about 68% of our units which means we can be a Quality District.
Susan reported that she has about 12 Unit Commissioners and she needs about
7 more to have 1 Commissioner for every 3 units.

Boy Scout Roundtable - Jerry Jester: A Hunter Safety talk will be the Boy
Scout program for the April RT. Susan Long will help do the Health & Safety
pitch at the August RT. She will find out who will do the main presentation
and insure they are ready to do it.

5. Membership and Relationships - Mark Christy: Mark and Suzie Slopek have
finished the Membership Goals for 2004 and will present them at the April 3
combined district planning conference in Fuquay-Varina.

6. Finance - Our entire FOS campaign is only about $1000 short of it's goal.
The FOS breakfast on March 25 at the McGregor Downs Country Club gathered
over $31,000. Thanks to all who helped with that effort.

7. Activities & Civic Service - Open Position - Roger Lear for Keith Biegert:
We had 30 Packs racing in the Pinewood Derby on March 6, 2004. It was the
last Derby for the old Dan Beard District. 240 Cub Scouts (68 Tigers, 94
Cubs and 78 Webelos) entered and 160 of those 240 were racers while the
other 80 entered the Best Design or Most Unique contests. Keith was able to
buy new banners for both of the new districts, since our old Dan Beard one
is no longer any good. He will present them to the district's Activities
and Civic Service Chairpeople at an upcoming Roundtable.

8. Cub Scout Program - Open position:

Cub Day Camp - Cub Day Camp Signup/Program folders are ready at the Scout
Office and will be mailed out to all 5 Wake County Districts soon.

Cub Family Campout - Rog Lear reporting for Steve Fuller: The first and
last combined Crosswinds and Hemlock Cub Family Campout had beautiful
camping weather and more than 900 Cubs and adults in attendance. Steve
Fuller and his staff did a great job on the campout. NOW we NEED a Cub
Family Campout Chief for the FIRST Crosswinds District Cub Family Campout.
Would you like to take a shot at doing it? If so, contact Robbie Spivey or
Martin Banning and sign up for it! We need someone to do it, please help!

9. Boy Scout Program:

Eagle Board of Review - Roger Lear for Tom Allen: The Eagle Board of Review
on March 10th created 4 new Eagle Scouts and 9 Eagle Projects for the
   Crosswinds District.

Camporee - Jerry Jester: There are 75% of the Crosswinds Boy Scout Troops
signed up to attend the Camporee on April 23-25.

10. Training - Susan Long for Brian Garrett: The SOS course for April 24-25 has
been CANCELLED! The Council Cub-O-Ree is scheduled for Sept. 24-26, 2004.

District Committee Member(s) of the Month: Keith Biegert for great job of
heading up our first and last combined Crosswinds and Hemlock Pinewood Derby!
Steve Fuller of the Hemlock District, for the great job that he did in heading
up our first and last combined Crosswinds and Hemlock Cub Family Campout!
You two Scouters are going to be a hard act to follow up next year, when we
have separate District events for the Derby and the Cub Family Campout!
