Crosswinds District Committee Meeting Minutes
September 6, 2007

Attendees: Martin Banning, Keith Biegert, Bob Gamble, Will Highsmith,
	   Jerry Jester, Roger Lear, Lu Little, Anne McVeigh, Bill Reynolds,
	   Chris Tompson and Ed Walsh (11)

1. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jerry Jester.

2. The minutes for August 2007 were approved as written.

3. Membership/Relationships - Bill Reynolds:  Next Monday and Thursday are Cub
   Roundup nights.  He needs help on both of those nights at Bond Park from
   6:15pm to 8pm, with help setting-up, talking to parents, etc..  Membership
   totals for this year were Cubs 704, Boy Scouts 928, Venturing 36, for a
   total of 54 units and about 1700 Scouts.  Bill also needs help at 2 park
   dedication ceremonies on Sept. 22, one at Union Park from 9:30am to 11am and
   one at Ritter Park from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

4. Activities & Civic Service - Chris Tompson:	There will be 11 ham radio
   operators at St. Andrew's on Saturday, October 20 to help Scouts earn their
   MB in radio.  They will set up the area and string antennas on Friday night.
   Chris and the ham operators have suggested that they might be willing to
   hold certification courses during November to allow the Scouts who earn the
   merit badge to go on to full certification as ham radio operators.

5. Training - Will Highsmith:  On Saturday, Sept. 8 from 8am to 5pm they have
   planned a SM/ASM  course if enough show up.	Only 4 have signed up so far.
   Council Mega Training on October 6 is is need of instructors/trainers.  The
   flyer is on the Council website.  Contact the Council trainer in charge if
   you are willing to help.

6. District Spring Camporee - Ed Walsh:  The theme at the District Camporee
   on April 25-27, 2007 will be cooking.

7. 2007 Popcorn Sale - Martin Banning for Beckie Dayton:  There was a good
   turnout at the Unit Popcorn Kernel training on Sept. 4.  Only two units were
   not represented at the meeting.  Beckie will need help when the Shon-N-Sell
   popcorn is delivered on Sept. 27 & 28.  If you can help, contact Beckie.

8. Eagle Board of Review - Gantt Edmiston (via e-mail):  The August EBOR
   approved 4 Eagle Ranks and 5 projects.

9. 2007 Recognition Event - Lu Little for Gary Thorn:  We are still looking
   for a location for the November 15, 2007 Recognition Event.

Committee Member of the Month:	Beckie Dayton for her work in getting the 2007
Popcorn Sale off and running.
