is being delivered to Neomonde's Baking Company (the same place we
used last year) at 3817 Beryl Road, across from Meredith College. If you

8. Eagle Board of Review - Gantt Edmiston (via e-mail): The August Crosswinds
EBOR approved 8 Eagle Ranks, 8 projects were reviewed and approved.
9. Scouting For Food - Chris Meyer: Our Scouting For Food program has finished
for the year (our program now runs year round, from September to August).
Our units (8 Packs and 11 Troops/Crews) collected a total of 18,258 pounds
of food (22% over our goal). Pack 224 gathered 2,346 pounds which made
them top in the Packs and Troop 210 gathered 1,981 pounds which made them
number 1 in the Troops. Go to our web site and look under Scouting For Food
on the site map for the Crosswinds SFF History.
We do need to have our units start signing up for the 2008-2009 Scouting For
Food program. We really need to have about 4 units sign up for each month
to get all of our units involved. If we could do that, we would collect
much more food every year. Contact Chris (info on our web site) to sign up
your unit. PLEASE DO IT SOON, so that we do not have to pester you, plus if
you sign up early, you can probably pick the month of your choice.
10. Commissioner Service - Jerry Jester: The goals have been set for the 2008
Quality Unit award. The Commissioners need to check with their units and
make sure they are planning their unit programs to reach the Quality Unit
status. Commissioners should also be encouraging their units to nominate
people for the adult recognitions being given out at our annual District
Recognition Event on October 23, 2008.
11. Annual Recognition Event - Gary Thorn: The District is looking for nominees
for the District Award of Merit and Distinguished Leadership Citation. If
you need information look at our web site and the site map heading of
"District Scouter Awards". The criteria for the awards are described on
the "Recognition Event and Forms" section. Please help us recognize
those Scouters who the units think are deserving. Nominations must be sent
to Gary Thorn no later than October 2, 2008 (extended deadline).
