Food collected by Crosswinds District Units

Cindy Smith - 2006 Scouting for Food Chairlady


Some units did Scouting for Food during February 2006, in conjunction with the Boy Scout Anniversary (we have used that time for years).
Units collecting in February were:
Troop 152 - 358 pounds
Troop 208 - 1215 pounds
Total - 1573 pounds

Pack 205 did Scouting for Food in May 2006.
Pack 205 collected 1,800 pounds of food.

On April 8, 2006 Cary units delivered collected food to the old Pizza Hut parking lot (in front of Kmart) on Kildaire Farm Road from 10am until noon. Cindy Smith, Scouter Steve Chapman and his son, Ryan, from Pack 216 and his daughter, Haley, from Brownie Troop 660 and Roger Lear staffed the collection site, helped unload, weigh, record and reload the food to be delivered to the selected food bank location.

Units collecting in Cary were:
Pack 200 - 380 pounds (Dens 3, 10 & 11)
Troop 213 - 671 pounds


On April 8, 2006 our units in Apex, Morrisville and Holly Spring collected food. Those units were:

Pack 224 collected 300 pounds of food in Apex.
Pack 393 collected 1,500 pounds of food in Morrisville.
Pack 431 and Troop 431 collected 1,130 pounds of food in Holly Springs.

      2100 pounds - Western Wake Crisis Ministries (Apex)
      1500 pounds - NC Food Bank (Raleigh)
       800 pounds - Salt and Grace Food Bank (Holly Springs)
       330 pounds - Fuquay-Varina Food Bank (Fuquay-Varina)
       223 pounds - Helping Hand Mission (Cary)
