CROSSWINDS DISTRICT TRAINING TAPES LIBRARY RULES
The Crosswinds District has available many of the Scout training video tapes in a VHS format. These first generation copies may be borrowed from the distict tape librarians listed below. If a manual/brochure/CD is used with the tape, a copy will accompany the video tape. A list of the tapes, descriptions and viewing times is held by each librarian.
Tapes that are labeled "FOR TRAINERS ONLY" are tapes and documents used when presenting the subject matter in a class environment. These tapes are meant for use by our District Training Teams.
The following rules apply for obtaining tape(s) and associated manuals:
1. Each person or unit will normally be limited to having no more than three (3) tapes signed out at one time. Exceptions may be requested and negotiated with the tape librarian.2. The person signing the tape out is responsible for the tape. The charge for a damaged, missing or lost tape is $10.00.
3. Tapes will normally be loaned out for one (1) month at a time. Tapes may be reserved for a specific date for group training. Tapes that are in high demand or reserved for a specific date, may be loaned out for LESS than one month. In that case the return date will be set by the tape librarian and the person signing the tape out. There are 3 duplicate libraries, so if a tape is not available from one library, it may be available from another.
4. If a tape is turned in late, there will be a $2.00 LATE FEE. For each week the tape is late, there will be an additional $2.00 late fee, up to a maximum of $5.00 in late fees.
5. Tapes must be returned to the tape librarian (or his/her designee) that signed it out. DO NOT return tapes by mail.
6. Copies may be made of the signed out tapes or manuals. The copies would be of a lower quality (2nd generation) but still viewable. A copy of any of the MASTER training tapes that the district has may be obtained by providing a blank 2 hour VHS format tape to the librarian and asking for a copy. There will be a $2.00 charge per copy and the time that it takes to get the copy made will have to be negotiated with the librarian doing the copying. If you want to use this copying service, contact one of the tape librarians.
NOTE: The master tapes WILL NOT be loaned out to anyone.
